Part of the joint public sector digitalisation strategy
A modernized Jupiter platform should ensure easy public access to good quality data. Data is used daily by hundreds of users from water utilities, authorities and private consultants, etc. In addition to contributing to the management of the drinking water resource, data are central to the development of models for climate adaptation and for warning of floods, just as data is also included in groundwater mapping, soil contamination tasks and in the planning of building and construction projects.
The overall goal of the project is to :
strengthen the use of data through easy public access to more and accurate data for wells, geology, groundwater and drinking water.
provide the opportunity to bring data from other and new sources into play in order to improve the conditions for effective planning and management of water supply, groundwater, climate adaptation, raw materials, soil pollution and building and construction projects.
In the project, Danmarks Miljøportal will ensure the collection and quality assurance of data.
The project is led by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Miljøstyrelsen) in close collaboration with GEUS and Danmarks Miljøportal.
The development takes place in collaboration between suppliers and users of groundwater and drinking water data as well as information about contaminants, including municipalities, regions, DANVA, Danish Waterworks, the consultancy industry, laboratories and well drillers.
